We often read messages like “sudden rain…
unexpected flood….severe drought”
in the newspaper. We have seen only drizzle
in the season and a heavy down pour in the offseason.
What is the reason for this change of nature? Could
we stop this change? The increasing temperature
of the earth year by year is the reason for this.
We alone are indirectly responsible for this. Therefore,
the increase in the temperature of the earth can be
stopped only if we are in favour of that.
The countries all over the world are taking efforts to reduce the carbon emission to 50% within the year 2050 thereby controlling the temperature increase to 2°.
More than 40% of the carbon is emitted from petroleum products and coal. Due to this, using the solar power and wind power as an alternative source of energy becomes a necessity. Yet, it is not possible to stop the carbon emission due to current facilities which have become essential. At the same time it can be controlled.
Scientists wish that the earth will escape to certain extent only if fuel energy is utilized economically without wastage.
Small steps from our side to reduce temperature rise of the earth:-
1) As carbon is emitted during power generation, the carbon emission can be considerably reduced by using the power economically.
2) C.F.L (Compacted Fluorescent Lamps) bulbs which consume less power can be chosen. If everybody switches to C.F.L bulbs, 500 tones of carbon emitted from all over the world will be curtailed.
3) When you don’t use TV, DVD, computers and mobile phone chargers, they must be switched off.
4) Old washing machine, Fridge, Inverter batteries will consume more power.
5) 158 kilograms of carbon emission per year can be curtailed by using air conditioners only after proper cleaning.
6) Going to nearby places by bicycle, going to places of walkable distance on foot and maintaining cars without unnecessary things and keeping them clean and using it whenever essential will avoid the pollution of the environment by carbon emission.
We can modify the earth in such a way that will be helpful to our future generation by creating small changes in our life.
